Youre supposed to purchase a code online and download it and play. There is and advertisement at s2games.com. They may have left the door wide open but they want you to spend 19.99 to play.

That doesn't work. They won't send you a code. Just type in twenty zeroes and it works, they took the auth server offline. People were complaining in the forums and some got refunds because S2 is no longer selling codes.

Played this last night, built up a very nice fortress, only I couldn't build the fighting units. I'd set it up as a LAN server and I guess I had to have an opponent before it would let me build a military. No use going online if I didn't know how to play !! Reminds me of Warcraft II with a smoother 3D engine. Excellent game though, and an AT clan match would be a cool idea once a week.

It's not an RTS, you don't build any units. Actual players fight while the commander just builds buildings and researches new tech. The only unit the commander controls are workers that build/mine. It is not a single player game, and it's impossible to play alone.

You'd think they'd have injected some generic bots to fill those roles though.

Sounds like a cool title, I'll have to try it out tonight if I get the chance.

Bots suck in all games. This is not a game designed for bots. It is not an RTS, it's an RTSS. The commander has no control over his units, although he can give orders. The primary task of the commander is to give the units more tools to defeat the enemy.

bump. This game rocks, although I get completely schooled in it... like as bad as 3 kills/17 deaths sometimes! :( :|

Just got done playing it for the first time. It's great... definitely an original game. I second what someone else mentioned about having a crappy commander, but what can ya do. Everyone's gotta learn I suppose.

Gonna go play some more, and an AT clan would be cool.

what's the population on most servers now? it's an awesome game when you have 40+ people, but a little tedious when not many are on.

I was playing on a 64 player server that was mostly full for the past couple of days. There are also about 3 more decent size (20-30+ players) servers that ping well for me. So I've maybe once had a problem finding a game. Would be nice if a few more people played it.

C'mon! All you guys that said you wanted to try it... have you? It's a pretty kickass game once you get the hang of it. I've only gotten to play the commander twice for a couple of minutes, but seems pretty neat also.

I remember the demo to be awesome. And this sure is one great commercial for the company.
