Savage IX laptop graphics question - i figgered it out

I have a HP pavillion laptop with Savage IX graphics.

Games run ok (pretty slow actually) in 640x480. It would be ok for light LAN gaming except that when you change video resolutions (lower than 1024x768) the dang thing doesn't scale back up to the full display. At 640 x 480 you see just a tiny box in the middle of the display.

Is it possible to scale this or is this a limit of the graphics chipset?

Its probably more related to your laptops lcd. They don't get very good resolution for games and have trouble with refresh rates. I had similar problems on an otherwise powerful laptop. Try plugging a normal monitor to your vid out, though that kinda defeats the purpose of a laptop heheh. This'll probably change some with the new geforce2 mobiles set for release as well as the tualatin and palomino mobiles, but I still think any serious gaming will be limited by the shortcomings of the laptops monitor problems (not to mention the tiny keys and awkward pointing devices).
