Meh. I'm guessing that this will be another FWD car? Since they don't say anywhere in that post...

If it is Epsilon then yeah, it'll be FWD.

Those wheels are hideous but the rest of it looks alright. I would consider it when I go car shopping again. I've been pleased with my 99 SL2 thus far and would buy another Saturn.

That looks nice to replace my 2002 Sentra, anyone know what is the price? It really does look like an Acura with tail end of a Altima.

Nah. It's possible. Not common though. My parents had an '84 Plymouth Reliant K Car wagon that ran 200k + with very infrequent oil changes. No major work done to it ever. But like I said...not common.

Well, I just realized I did lie. My Pontiac Bonneville only had 170K on her when she died. But how does this sound:

1986 Ford Ranger - 423,000 miles, original engine, tranny and clutch
1987 Ford Ranger - over 300K, have to ask my dad what it was exactly
1990 Mercury Sable - 261K, was still running when we sold her
1990 Jeep Cherokee - 275K miles, ran but didn't have any floorboards :)
I also had a Pontiac Sunbird with 170K, but I sold her ASAP because she sucked ;)

The engine looks good and they've often used Saab's V6 but unless the suspension has been improved the ride will still suck. Not to mention road noise. If it's consistant with previous vehicles, this will be an overpriced average car that won't hold it's value. Saturn's are notorious for losing about 75% of their value in less than three years.

It might look nice, but it won't be worth the money.

Too bad you don't know what the hell you're talking about :)

[*] The car is based on the NEW GM Epsilon platform (Pontiac G6, Chevy Malibu, Opel Vectra, Saab 9-3).
[*] Still mostly cheap plastic? You've been in it? GM has been making some strided lately in interior quality on their cars
[*] The engine is the new DOHC 3.6 liter. Nothing to do with Saab, but it's used in the Caddy SRX, CTS, STS and Buick Lacrosse
[*] Road noise? Good gawd, the car hasn't even come out yet.

I scanned the article so you're right.

I'll give you the platform point.

I haven't been in it (obviously) but I said if it's consistant with previous cars...most other GM's have better plastic than Saturns. Although Saturn is GM, in the past they have shared very little. If they start sharing the cars will be better.

I'm not knocking the V6.

Good gawd read my post. Again with consistancy. Saturn road noise sucks.

Get rid of the brown leather and the piss/vomit yellow neon and we have a winner. It's good to see Saturn get some style. My 99 SL2, reliable as it is, is rather bland looking. If the need ever arises where it has to be replaced, this may do just fine.
