I used to watch it when I was a kid (mid 70's). For the most part, I've always felt the show was slowly going downhill since. Not that it wasn't funny; some weeks it was great. But overall, I thought the best seasons were the early ones.

Well I'm not quite as old as you, but watching reruns of the older shows is hilarious. I used to watch every week as a child, but now it wouldn't even interest me to watch it.

Blasphemy!!

Tracey Morgan is awesome, I could do without Kattan however.

True that. Astronaut Jones and Brian Fellows are two of my favorite characters. Also him telling Lorne to 'go get me a soda, bitch' .. just classic.

I've concluded that SNL is only funny if you're stoned. Back in the 70s my parents wouldn't let me watch it so I would watch while I was babysitting. I was amazed how nothing much would happen for fifteen minutes, a half hour at a time, just the band sort of playing and people wandering about the set. Friends would say how funny it was but I guess I wasn't doing the right drugs.

Honestly, it is time for it to go bye-bye. Darrell Hammond and Chris Parnell are the only funny cast members left, and most of the comedy and scripts can only be the result of all night crack binges. It is neither funny nor intelligent these days, and there are very few people in the world more annoying than Rachel Dratch. Time for NBC to kill it. It slowly went downhill, but now the pace has quickened at a pace in which Jesse Owens would have been pressed to duplicate. Do the world a favor, NBC, and euthanize this show. Thank You.

I was watching it last night too and half way through that "Iguana" skit i had to turn it off. Whoever that woman in that scene was she SUCKED.

It was painful to watch that stupid MA! MA! MA! MA! skit. It wasnt even funny after 9 shots of vodka.

Thats because I don;t think you understand what they were doing. He even explained it before they began.

They were debating an issue and instead of actually debating they produced what we really hear when we listed to political debates, beautiful sounding gibberish

Yep, who do you think writes all that hate for GWB which continues to be a bellylaugh week after week after weak after week?

They make fun of every president and a lot of other politicians. Get over it.

Last night's show was pretty bad, at least the first half. I only watched up until Weekend Update which always has been and still is the best part of the show.

You're talking about the "debate" during Weekend Update, he's talking about the sketch where they were in line at Universal Studios. The one you're talking about was funny in a strange kind of way, the one he's talking about sucked in every possible way.

All Tracy Morgan did was play the stereotypical ignorant black man, I don't think that is funny at all. Kenan Thompson is in funny and he doesn't have to play that type of character. Finess Mitchell does that character sometimes, but he also does a lot of other characters hat are kinda funny.

Its still not even close to funny.

I dont want a political mesage, i want to laugh.

Edit: nevermind we were talking about different skits. I was really wondering what the political message was in that skit 😛
