Anyways, i'm a junior right now and my parents are hassling me about taking the SATs. What I want to do is goto a community college after High School then transfer to a 4yr university after I get my general ed done. So I can just sign up for them at http://www.collegeboard.com/ and sign up for SAT I and II right? TIA
 
If you're going to a community college, the SATs are unnecessary, really. Don't waste your time and money just yet. Take them closer to when you'll be going to a 4 year college, and spend your time now with a good princeton review SAT strategy guide book, their advice will really help you boost your score (brought mine up by a couple hundred points)
 
Depends on where you go. I went to a community college (ug) for a bit, then transferred to a university. Never took the SATs. Wasn't needed for entrance into CC, and my grades/background got me into the university. just depends on where you want to go i guess.
 
I am at Purdue University and I got in with a 1090 SAT score (score from 7th grade and it only got worse as I took them again).
 
I think it's nice jsut to see what you get. Besides some colleges ask for em even if you're a transfer student, and they might help you.
 
I got my best score when I was a Junior, then Senior year you feel the pressure. Anyways, if you are planning on going to a JC for 2 years, then you really don't have to take them... JC's and universities (here in CA) have an agreement to accept pretty much any kid from a JC who completes his GE. So if you complete your GE, and have over a 2.5-3.0 college GPA, then you shouldn't have a problem.
I would take them though, they are a good way to get used to the stresses of college tests!

SATs are nothing like college tests. the SAT Is are designed so that the average person gets half of them wrong. Many of the questions are trick questions, and you have to play the points game because you are penalized more heavily for guessing wrong than you are for not answering.
