Satellite tuner cards. Are there any good ones?

We have dish network and I have been thinking of getting a DVR. But now I'm wondering if I should setup my computer as a HTPC-like sever (bed room) and then mod my X-box to play the files (TV room).

Two things wrong with this.

1. From what I've read, there are no good satellite cards out there.

2. My Mom's eyes glazed over when I tryed to explain how this would work (She is still getting the hang of two controllers for watching TV).


I'm trying to do this for under $200 minus fees from DishNetwork (If I have to pay them). What options do I have for something like this? I don't mind getting a DVR and swapping out the HDD for more room. I would also like to get the files of the DVR without too much fuss.

Neither will decode encrypted channels, though. There are others that do (via a so-called CI slot).
