satellite broadband question

i'm getting 1-way satellite broadband,do i need the dial-up left on all the time if i'm downloading a large file for example,my setup will be 56k dial-up with satellite download of 1Mbit😕

You had to be dialed up for the Sat to download when I was using sat.

Yes. And if you are using DirecTV, watch out for the Fair Access Policy. 😉
