Has anyone had any luck using IsatPlatform's service under linux/bsd, anything other than windows? i see ppl talking about it online, but they dont answer emails that i send them. i would just like to know if anyone has had any luck w/ it, and if so, where can i get the modules?
Thanks,

Do they require that you isntall something in your computer? Or is like a cable modem were it's can be a ethernet device? If it's ethernet it shouldn't require any special drivers unless they do something very weird.

BTW how much would something like that cost? What is the bandwidth/lag (for games) of something like that?

Lag will be in the 800+ range. ~21,000 miles is a long way for half of a trip ;)

i have it here, as it is teh only way to get broadband in the middle of michigan..... i am not a gamer, so lag doesent mean crap. there is about a 2 second pause after i click on a link that it gomes down. i payed 100$ for hardware and 50$ a month from WMIS.Net. doesent seem to be that bad. heluva lot better than dial-up. am just sick of using xp as the gateway on my network......could put it to better uses.

What's the name of the device? What sort of thing is the pci called, who manufactured it? If it's used professionally then the likelyhood of it being supported is fairly ok.

is it like this?
