SATANISM does NOT make ANY sense (insightful thought)

Here are my thoughts:::

*Satanism is a concept of religion that opposes Christianity
*They do everything the exact opposite of what Christianity believes. And try to offend it as much as possible
*Therefore, Satanism is specifically(if not all) based on Christianity.
*This means, Satanists DO believe that Jesus Christ is real, the concept of heaven and hell is real, etc..
*Because, obviously, belief in Satan equates to existence in God and Evil
*And yes, they specifically worship Lucifer which is the biblical character from Christianity.

Now my point
*This means, they do believe in Satan's intention and will according to Bible
*According to Bible, Satan's will is to obliterate and corrupt humans from being saved to goto heaven
*Satan does NOT care whether you worship him or kiss his ass. You will burn in hell nevertheless. Perfectly falling into his plan

*Then tell me, why on earth Satanists, Satanists???

I do NOT consider Satanism as a religion. It does not hold any significance, it is nothing but a mere reflection off Christianity. They're nothing but bunch of mislead imbeciles who find offending God is "cool". But this is just fuct up. If you are an atheist, you don't believe in anything and that's cool. If you are a Christian, then you believe in going to heaven and that's cool. If you are an Satanist, you must believe in Christianity as a valid supporting foundation that define the very self of Satanism. And you still want to goto HELL. That's just messed up. Get my point?

That's news to me. Last time I checked, Satanism was a religion where you are your own god.

Lucifer is no more, hasn't been since he rebelled against God.

Anyhow, I doubt most Satanists know what they're getting into, or that they take their religion seriously, there's reason to believe that they do it just because the activities they indulge themselves are "fun" and that Satanism is, on the whole, "fun."

Perhaps a Satanist could answer your questions better.

Basically, you're correct. Anton Szandor LaVey explains it pretty well in The Satanic Bible. I know it's confusing, but trust me, Satanism is not a religion based on worshipping Satan, it is a religion where you are your own God.

Just because a Dictionary defines it as the worshipping of Satan doesn't mean that's what it is. And yes, there are plenty of people like that that carve pentagrams into their foreheads and all kinds of stupid crap, just that's not at all what Satanism is.

A thing and its opposit are the same at a higher level of understand or put differently, dualities are resolved at a higher level of understanding. Hot and cold are about molecular motion. Black and white about photons and or electron shells. Good and evil are about self love. To see molecular motion you need instrumentation. With a microscope, for example, you can see Brownian motion. To understand or measure self love you need the capacity to feel. What people don't understand is that unconsiousness and consiousness are about feeling or more specifically that unconsciousness is the inability to feel. Of what use are religious questions and speculation when you are asleep. Learn to feel.

Actually, as has been said LeVay Satanism is really nothing more than Aethism. In it's teachings you are to do what makes you fell good, and it also says that you are your own god. Also, in LeVay Satanism there is also a "rule" to never harm another living thing. This "brand" of Satanism is pretty much laughed at from more "hardcore" groups, such as Crowley Satanists.
The "evil" Satanism that the church preaches about was created by the church to keep the "flock" in line. Need to keep a steady cash flow, after all. As it has been said before "Satan has been the church's best friend"

Satanist DO NOT worship the devil, nor do they believe in God. They are basically glorified Atheists. For some stupid reason Lavey(the founder of Satanism) decided to pick the name Satanism because he felt it would get the most attention from Christians and piss them off.

You are confusing Devil Worshippers which are complete dumbassed because they do believe in Jesus Christ and God. They just decide to pick the losing side for some reason.

Satanism just takes Atheism and tries to add concepts for living. It is also pretty stupid IMO. Being an Atheist myself I don't see much point either. I know a few Satanist and they just get a kick out of pissing off Christians. I don't see any reason for trying to harass other people and their religion but Satanist like it.

I think all religions and cults are just by products of nature, culture, and geography. If most of the Christians in this country were born in Saudi Arabia, then they would most likely be Muslim.

Paganism is just something that people are holding on to from 1000's of years ago.

J3anyus hit the nail on the head. Satanists believe in putting themselvs before others/god. it's about living their life to the most by getting as much out of it as they can. Real satanists generally have no problem with christians or any religion, just think it's silly(of course there are a few exceptions). the stereotypical satanist who hates all christians and tries to make their lives as difficult as possible, has a dead goat in the basement etc. has almost certainly never read the Satanic Bible and/or understood it.

P.S. The horned goat was _NOT_ evil to start with. The mythological Greek god Pan and its Roman couterpart Faunuus
were the gods of Herds and flocks, of the rustic and pastoral. (See Pan)

When Christianity gained power in Rome it was decided to depict the popular old gods as evil, to make it easier to get people to choose for Christianity. The same was done with other old religions, sometimes taking things from it (Christmas tree), sometimes calling it evil.

It's like the people who called the Internet evil, and now use it too. If you can't get others to stop using it, try to change it to suit your own purposes.

There seems to be a fundamental confusion here. I hope I can clear things up a bit.

Satan Worshipping = Worshipping Lucifer/Satan. A living being (in same sense as God is living) that opposes Jesus and God.

Satanism = A form of philosophy, where you are your own master. It's not "evil". You do what you want to do, and don't take orders from others. It's about YOU.

Satan Worshipping is stupid and evil. Satanism is completely different.
