So, I just built a new system around an AsRock Z77E-ITX. I reused my 90GB Vertex 3, which purports to be SATA-3 capable, from a previous build, and used SysPrep to migrate over my Windows 7 Pro x64 installation.
So, I used the SATA3 cable that came with the motherboard, and installed all the chipset drivers, and told the motherboard that the drive was an SSD, and it's plugged into the right (gray) port. (SATA3_0, if you're reading a manual.)
But Intel's RST program reports that my SSD is connected at 3Gbps, and AS-SSD results are consistent with that. (<250MB/sec Sequential Reads.)
What's the best way to troubleshoot this? Drivers were downloaded from AsRock's website, and I don't have any other SATA3 drives to troubleshoot with. Should I try the other SATA3 cable first, or mess with drivers? Which drivers?
Thanks.
