I am just putting together my new "toy". I bought a A8N-SLI Premium i also got a WD 200g SATA hard drive. i am not going to raid or anything fancy but need to understand a little better what I bought...LOL I was reading in the manual that i need to set the drive as "jbod" or just a bunch of discs. then it was refered to as Spanning? can you put that into gammer terms.......🙂 after setting up my bios and this sata, will i just install my OS as usual? sorry if this is not in right catagory but i started here........weeeeeeeee

If you're only running a single disk there would be no spanning. For multiple disks and raid you can have the data span 2 disks. For your situation, just hook up the drive and install XP as normal.
