I'm getting 3 new hard drives that are SATA and was wondering if I need a seperate controller card to run them or can I just use the controllers that come with my motherboard. Here is the system I'm getting. Also, I'm buying today - so any suggestions on better choices would be welcomed.

Motherboard: ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
Processor: Intel P4 2.8C or 3.0C 800-Retail - have to decide today
Case: Cooler Master Model# ATC-201B-BXT
Power Supply: Antec True480
Cooling: Thermalright SLK900U w/92mm Panaflo, also coolermaster thermal kit-w/Shin Etsu
RAM: 1 GB Kingston HyperX 3500
HD: 2x Raptors - Raid 0 and 1X WDSATA 250GB
DVD-RW: waiting to buy for a while
DVD/CDRW: Samsung SM-352BRNS-2mb blk oem
Floppy: Sony - blk
Video Card:ATI 128 9800 Pro
Sound Card: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
Keyboard/Mouse: Logitech MX Duo

You already have a thread regarding SATA drives. There is no need to start another one.

Does the mobo support >2 SATA drives? If yes then you don't need a controller card ...........

Get the 2.8 Cpu, and the mobo comes with an onboard Promise controller. I would set the Raptors up on the ICH5R, and then the 3rd drive to the Promise controller.

Thanks, I made decision before thread came through. I was given 3.0C as a gift, so I didn't need to make that decision.
