Sata troubles - Fixed

Hello all,

I just installed a Sata-II drive to complement my 2 Sata-Raid drives on a different controller. My MB is an Asus A8V Deluxe. I have my existing raid set up on my Promise controller and was wanting to add the other drive to the Via controller.

My MB detects the drive during boot when the Via utility loads, but the utility only seems to be geared for raid only and the drive doesn't show up in windows. I have the 1.5 GBs jumper set on the HDD, so its not that. There are no bois options for sata/raid for this controller and when I hit tab to load the Via Tech Raid utility, the drive is listed, but I cannot select any options since I don't have a second drive.

I know this board supports single SATA drives on this controller, but I can't find out how. My hunch is that the Via boot utility is to blame and doesn't assign the drive a letter since it is not a raid. I have seen others use this controller with a single drive, but they didn't have an existing raid on the other controller either. At this point I'm out of ideas, and have searched Via, Asus and numerous other sites for answers unsucessfully.

Thanks,
Tim

Edit - Fixed by fresh insall of via 4in1 chipset drivers :/
