Can someone please help me get this setup???

I have 2 Maxtor 80gig ide hdd's on Highpoint converters
connected to Sata 1 & 2 on the mother board. I have tried
hdd's jumpers set to master, cable select, and have removed
them all together. Still won't recognize the hdd's

I cannot get to where you press F6 to load Sata files from floppy
with out disableing Sata in the bios, and then Win XP Pro doesn't find
the drives.

What am I doing wrong???

I've searched the AT forums, faq, asus forums, gigabyte site, google
and cannot find anything on how to set this up.

You need to make sure that you set up the raid config. You have to push f4 or something like that during the bootup to set up raid on the drives. It will take you through a step by step process. On ly then will the drives be recognized to install the OS.

Thanks PJ, But when I hit ctrl+s or F4 it says
Primary Channel with a blinking cursor, and
won't do anything.

There is a place if ITE raid is enabled where you
hit ctrl + G to set up ITE raid config, but I do not
want ITE raid.

You have to setup the SATA drivers similar to SCSI. While Windows is loading the setup you have to puch F6 I believe to do so. You can then load the SATA drivers so that they will be recognized.

There's another post here about this I believe, so try a search for it.

I've set bios to scsi and disabled sata raid, this was
the only way I could get to F6. I loaded sata drivers and rebooted
changing bios back to sata and enabled sata again. my drives
still aren't found.

I've done a search and did not find anything for my problem

I'm dying here

EDIT: I just noticed that you already tried AsusBoards SiS Forums... I had the SINXP, but not long enough to fool with the SATA controller...
