SATA Raid Setup Question

cleave

I'm doing two raptors in raid 0 on an abit ic7-max3. Then I want to have a couple large sata ide drives, 200 gigs or so, as a raid 1 setup and backup my raptors to it, as well as use them for additional storage.

Is this do-able? Can you have multiple raid configurations concurrently running? Can anyone see problems with this?

Thanks!

Are you planning to use different controller? Or does this mobo have more than 2 SATA channels? I you use the separate controller, I see no problem.

The board has 6 SATA inputs, southbridge contols first two which has native raid support, rest are on a sillicon image raid controller. Does that work?

should work no problem, you should be able configure SI as RAID 1, if you have Raptors on Southbridge RAID. Get into SI BIOS and configure away...🙂
