SATA Raid Question

Ok here's my setup:

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum PCB Ver 1.0
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
4GB Kingston RAM - 4x1GB
2 Samsung 7200 RPM - 1TB SATA
2 WD Raptor 10000 RPM - 36GB SATA
1 Additional Drive, can't remember what it is
1 LiteOn DVD RW
1 PCIE ATI Radeon 4650 HD 512 MB

My motherboard has to Raid controllers, and Nvidia and a Silicom 3114. I want to know if I am able to have each of them handle seperate Raid and then have 1 more drive connected as standalone?

In general I have been having some problems getting it all set up. I hope I can get the information I need through here.

Thanks,

From my personal experience I could say the following:

- With a bit of luck (bios limitations etc) it's possible to activate two raid controllers
- use one raid array with 2 identical disks on one controller and do the same with the others
- I would take out the extra hd and put it in an external had cabinet

Alternatively, you could try setting up two different arrays on the nVIDIA, and either using PATA for the other, or the other controller, used as non-RAID.
