SATA Raid not showing up in windows install.

Alright here is the setup, I have 4 WD Raptors set up in a raid using a Promise Fasttrak sx4-m. My motherboard is the Elitegroup Nforce3 a939. The fasttrak bios, and my motherboard bios are set up properly for the drives. I have one more IDE drive that I am using for my windows partition, and It is working fine.

The problem is this:

When I boot to a windows cd, hitting f6 to install my raid drivers, I am able to install the drivers, but the raid doesnt show up in the drive list that follows the install. I have tried using the floppy that came with my raid card, and the floppy that came with my motherboard. Nothing.

When I am booted into windows, I have the Fasttrak drivers installed, but in my harddisk manager, the raid never shows up at all.

I have tried everything I could to fix this but have seemed to hit a dead end.

Any help would be great!
Thanks

You might check the Promise website support section for your controller; they have a list of hard drives that are compatible with that controller; if the WD2000JS in your sig is the drives in question, they're not on the compatibility list. That doesn't mean they won't work, it just might be trickier to make them work. They also list (and have available for download) the correct drivers for your card. You might want to check your drivers against that list to make sure your system has up to date drivers.

Hope that helps.

Also make sure that RAID is turned on for those drives in the BIOS, because some BIOSes have that option. Mine have to be manually turned on, and it is in the integrated periphials section.

I have done both of these things, the bios is reconizing the drives, and i have installed the correct drivers for the card.

One question since the drives attached to the raid are SATA, would I need to install drivers for the sata drives and the raid card?
