I recently bought a retail WD RAPTOR, and it came with this plug that took the place of a pwoer supply connector and mobo connector, it looked something like this with a plug connecting to the mobo http://www.allproducts.com/ee/fuyao/Product-20056710637.jpg.

If i use this plug, would i have to plug in a 4pin molex ? Is it advisable to use this plug, or should i just use a sata power cable from my psu and a sata data cable from my mobo?
 
Why would you want to use the plug if you have no need for it, assuming your MB and PS are sata compatible. Use sata 3 or 4 if you OC.
