SATA Power Connectors or regular MOLEX?

I'm putting together my first A64 system and using a SATA Hard drive. I noticed I can use a regular MOLEX power connector or the SATA power connector on the hard drive. I have the converter cable, but I was wondering if one was better than the other to use. Thanks!

They are both the same, just a different size of plug. I like using the SATA ones because they are smaller = less clutter.

Personally I like the SATA connectors better for power. I hate them for data, I'm always scared I'm gonna hit the connector and rip the pin socket straight off the drive.

Thanks! I appreciate the help. Looks like I'm going to need help setting up the SATA drive now. I guess that's another post.

Usually if the hd has both connectors it probably isn't a true SATA drive but a PATA drive with a converter chip.

Seagate is one of the true drives, along with the Raptor and the brand spankin' new Maxtor. Hard to beat a Seagate with the 5 year warranty.

if the drive offers the choice like the raptor drives, I use molex for power and WD's SecureConnect cable, locks in secure, not easily knocked out of place at all.
