SATA hard drive problem...

I'm trying to setup windows right now with my 250 GB WD HDD, but when it asks me to partition the drive, it says there's only 131069 mb available. What does this equate to in GB? I would think it means 131 GB, and that's a LOT less than 250 GB...

Why isn't it recognizing the drive's full capacity?

Most likely its due to the bios on your computer. You have 2 options. Install an ata 133 card that you attatch the new drive to and recover your space, or 2 install a software program like easy-bios that translates between your hard disk and the bios on the motherboard.(download it from the hd manufacturers' website) One final option that you can do is to flash your bios on your motherboard to see if it will enable larger disk support. That's the riskiest option and you should do it as a last resort.

Good luck
