SATA Hard Drive Not Showing Up

Mr Bob

I have been running a 120GB SATA hard drive for 6 months, today I installed a second hard drive (74GB Raptor) and it does not show up when I click on My Computer.

Once windows booted up, it found the new hardware, showed it as being the correct hard drive. It has the correct SATA drivers, and in the BIOS it still shows as this being my 2nd hard drive.

I do not want to boot off of this drive, mainly I just want to be able to place files on it.

Anyone know what I can do to make this hard drive show up as a regular drive?

I say reinstall windows again and do the f6 thing. Btw CaMSpoon, my 74 GB raptor is loud during seeks, but when not it's pretty quiet, although I do find the seeks annoying, I might get a new hard drive as soon as I get watercooling.

Not louad at all, in fact, it is more quiet than my Seagate 120GB.

Reinstall windows???1??!!?!??!?!?! Why would I do that? Anyone else have a suggestion?

Nope. I just plugged it in, started up the computer.

How would I make a partition and format it, without losing any data on my 120GB? << newb here
