SATA DVD Drive but not a SATA mobo

I just got a new SATA dvd rw, and can't figure out how to use it. My motherboard doesn't have any SATA connectors, so i'm wondering if I can get a PCI SATA card? I already have a crappy megaraid sata RAID controller card which i use to run my sata raptor drive without issues but if i connect my dvd drive to it (on the second connector) it doesnt work. I assume this is because the controller is for hard drives only? Is there a PCI card that will allow me to connect any SATA devices? thanks

Not avoiding your question, but let me make sure I have this right. You have a raptor and a SATA DVD drive but an old motherboard without SATA outputs? What socket is you CPU. because it may cost just a little more to get a new motherboard that has SATA and will control your raptor better.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes your correct, I have an old motherboard without SATA outputs but its a Dell (I know, i know). I think it would be difficult to get a new motherboard since it would have to fit my Hell, err Dell case.

My CPU is socket 478.

yes it should work, but 65 bucks?!! ouch. What does your case look like? maybe you could get a new mATX board with a 865pe chipset or something.
