SATA drives

I've read that you have to load drivers for RAID with SATA drives by pressing F6 when Windows XP installs. Do you have to load drivers for SATA drives in the same way when Windows XP installs and you're not using RAID, or does it load it's own drivers automatically?

I didn't have to load drivers for my regular SATA. I just plugged it up and WinXP recognized it during the install. I guess it depends on the motherboard.

Does the XP install stop and wait for you to press F6 or do you have to catch it like hitting DEL to get into your bios or F8 for SafeMode?

During the text part of Windows setup, it will say at the bottom to press F6 if you need to install the drivers.
