i'm a newbie and have recently installed windows xp pro with SP1 on my home made rig. I have an ASUS a8v deluxe rev 2.0 mobo with the raptor 74G HD installed onthe SATA promise controller. I have read all the threads and after about 2 hours i was able to get the sata 378 drivers installed, went through the F6 and S installation and the entire 30-45 minutes of install seemed to go great. when the computer went on to final reboot windows wont start and i keep getting and error code that windows could not successfully be started and prompted me to go to my last stable configuration.
no matter how i try to restart ( either safe mode, safe mode with controller, or last stable config) I keep receiving error code.
I even went back to the bios and changed my boot order back to the SATA HD first, but to no avail.
any suggestions
help is neeeeeded!!!!!!!
