I had the same motherboard(rest in pieces). The driver from the giga-byte site didn't work. I had to get the driver from the intel application accelerator. When installing that, you had to use a special command to get it to copy the driver to the hard drive so you could put it on the floppy. When I get home I'll try and remember exactly what you need to do and post it here for you.

actualy I still have the driver on a floppy, so if you want to give me your e-mail address, I can e-mail it to you.

The driver you need is buried in really deep in that download from the Gigabyte site. And it is not in the Diskettes folder as you would assume.

Which folder you double click on depends on whether you have a RAID board or not. There are two folders named Si3112 and Si3112r. The "r" is for RAID.

The process is the same regardless of which folder you need.

Double click the folder that pertains to your board.

Inside will be another folder of the same name. Double click on it.

Copy all the files you now see onto a floppy. If you see a file named TxtSetup.oem you are in the right place.

This floppy will do the job for you.

well the motherboard also has the ICH5R southbridge, so I guess it depends on which serial ata ports he's using, the Si3112r ones, or the intel ones, either way, they did burry the drivers pretty good.

I tried to copy the drivers from the CD that came with the Gigabyte mother board. It did not work...
tried downloading from diffrent cites but nothing worked same problem....

Actually I was able to get it to work. I happened to order Intel mother board by accident so I had to mother boards. Intel mother boards come with the floppy that has the drivers in it so I installed them and it worked.

But now computer seems to be booting slow??? I thought that this drives are supposed to be faster?????
I connected it to SATA0_SB.

Thanks for the help
