sata driver question(s)

i've never used a sata driver before so i'm very unsure of it all. i have a 400g seagate [ hd ] and a abit kn9 motherboard [ mb ] .

i don't want to raid or anything, just run the drive like you would a normal ata drive, is there anything i need to set up in bios for this and also i'm not sure which drivers i need for the windows f6 insall.

the abit site lists two, 'nForece500 Series Chipset Driver' and 'NvRaid Installation Disk', do i need them both or just one?

Windows should detect your drive without any drivers if you're not using the RAID controller.

i tried that first but it didn't detect anything. i'm fairly sure as well in the bios everything in the raid config is disabled, as i wasn't running a raid, but do i need that on just for a single sata as well?
