I just built a new computer with a 250GB Maxtor SATA drive... and now its showing up in the "Safely Remove Hardware" list. Is there anyway to make it go away? Its the only harddrive on the system so its like, why would I never need to remove it? If any information is needed just ask and it'll be provided. Any help will be appriciated. Thanks!

strange....

check this: go to device manager, disk drives, the maxtor drive, policies tab. It should be on "Optimize for performance" with the write caching enabled. The two options for quick removal and performance should be grayed out with it set to performance.

This is an issue with the Nforce 3/4 drivers.

Edit: There is no way to remove this, other than to uninstall the Nforce IDE driver. It doesn't hurt anything though, so just hide the icon and be done with it.
