SATA drive help

Trying to install windows on my new comp and I have a 80 gig Hitachi SATA HD. My motherboard recognizes the drive but when i run windows set up, it says that I have no HD connected. Can anyone help?

all i know is that you have a mobo and a hd.

Didyou hit F6 and install the SATA drivers during the Windows install?

You shouldn't need to install the drivers, but its worth a try. Hit f6 and insert your SATA driver floppy disk.

i tried hitting f6 like 100 times but it wont let me install the drivers

my system spec are AMD 64 3500 939
MSI Motherboard
Radeon 9800 pro
1 gig corsair RAM
Hitachi 80 gig SATA drive

in your bios is the sata drive selected in the >BOOT FROM menu
