SATA connector of Antec 550W

I plan to buy Antec 550W from Amazon. But as I know there are old and new versions of this PSU. The new one has 2 SATA connectors but the old one does not have.

Antec Tech support said if I buy a old version, they can send SATA connectors to me.

My question is if I happen to buy an old version, can I just add SATA connectors to easily obtain the same function of the new version? Is this SATA connector an adaptor? I mean, will it take two power lines so that I will have less IDE power line? Sorry I am a newbie for computer DIY, never playing with with PSU.

BTW, I know some retailer are selling new version of Antec550 now, but I choose Amazon is just because I have a $100 gift card. Thanks a lot.

SATA power adaptors plug into a single 4-pin MOLEX plug. These are the standard 4-pin plugs coming out of ATX power supplies.

Most motherboards that support SATA drives come with two SATA cables for data and a 'Y' connector for the PSU. The same power connector can be found in most computer shops/resellers and even places like [in]compusa and worst buy. Chances are, you won't need EVERY power connection on the 550W PSU. If you do, then you got a hell of a lot of sheit inside the computer. Hell, with three optical, four hard drives, a floppy and video card with it's own feed I'm still not using all the feeds provided by my Neo Power PSU. That's also with two of the case fans feeding off the PSU (the other two feed from the mobo). Fans and such, low power, devices can be chained easily, if you're concerned.
