SATA Boot Problems

If I plug in any SATA Drive into my computer, it locks up during the POST sequence with the line "Verifying DMI Data Pool..."

My motherboard is a Gigabyte K8NSP with the F4a BIOS, with an Athlon64 3400+ and WinXP Pro.
Any suggestions to get it to boot with an SATA device?

How about boot order, in BIOS, maybe when you connect drive it takes priority.

Took it out of the boot order - same problem

Check to see if SATA is in IDE mode or AHCI in BIOS...set it to IDE if given the chance
