Sata bios help

How do i get into the Sata setup for creating RAID for my two drives, i can't figure it out, and the manual is no help

Make sure you enable both VIA and Promise controllers. I think you have to also enable onboard 1394 before RAID will work (don't know why, or remember much about that). There are two separate sets of instructions in the manual for the two controllers. I had some difficulty at first getting into the RAID menu. It is explained in the manual, so follow the instructions very carefully.

My ASUS board has two SATA ports. First, they must be enabled - then the driver must be installed by Windows. That comes on the CD that came with the mobo. On mine, the BIOS then runs right before Windows is loaded (FastTrack by Promise.) Normal boot/loading follows.

When it runs for the first time (reboot after it is installed) you get a menu which lets you set up RAID, etc.
