sata and win98

Specs first:
36g WD Raptor
160g WD SATA 7200
Asus A7N8XE
Win 98 SE + Win 2000pro (hopefully)

I'm trying to install 98se and 2000pro on the raptor in a dual boot config. When I startup with my 98 start up disk, it hangs before giving me a prompt (right before it normally would do so). I suspect it is because I haven't given it the sata drivers, but I'm not sure how to do this. Unlike 2000, you can't F6 to specify SCSI/Raid drivers.

Also, the Asus site only has 2000/XP sata drivers in the download section of the A7N8XE. Does this mean I'm screwed?

Let me know if more info is needed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Depending on your SATA conrtoller, you will likely have native "use" of your SATA drives in DOS/Win9x-ME. My Promise PCI SATA controller works with WinME. WinME was at least able to install without *any drivers,* and it is not because WinME has these drivers built into the OS.

Besides, your Win98 start-up disk should work with NO hard drives in the system. (It will tell you if it finds no valid FAT partitions.) You've got another problem.
