I am building a new system since my pc is still a P2 and old now. I bought a WG 300 gb SATA HD. I have on my old pc a 1 year old 32 GB IDE of HD from seagate.

My question is can i combine the sata and IDe and set up to RAID?? will there be a conflict??

Pls advz.

I would imagine that whatever raid your new mobo has would either be SATA or IDE. Even if it had 2 RAID chips, you'd have to have the same time of drives for hardware RAID.

yes, you can use an IDE drive in combination with a SATA drive. However, will this work in any variety of Raid formation? I have no idea and will guess no.

Yes to question 1 and no to question 2.
