SATA 3G HDD on SATA 6G mobo?

I have a couple of Hitachi SATA 3G, 16M cache, 7200 rpm, 500gig drives in the box and have been eyeballing ASUS-AMD mobo combos. I've not enough experience to know if the SATA 3G drives will function fully with the 6G cables/slots.
I'm assuming (dangerous) backward compatibility and I don't need blistering speed for heavy video streaming or gaming etc.
Any input is very welcome.

Yes it is backwards compatible and no problem at all.
