I just got back my SAT II scores. Scores of 520 for Literature and 540 for math II. Are my chances of UCLA over?

I don't know what UCLA's requirements are, but those scores aren't that great. I would try and get them up. I am not taking my SATII's for this year until june, but in previous years have taken Bio M, Math IC, and Chemistry. This year I am taking Physics, Writing, and Math IC (Not in calc yet, so can't take IIC).

Junior year has been horrible for me. I have accomplished nothing. I got rejected by student government, and yearbook.
Also only got 1190 on the PSAT. I don't even qualify for UCLA. :frown:

No worse than me who didn't even try.

what major are you planning to pursue? Also, percentile is more meaningful than the score alone.

My literature scores were in the 26 percentile.
:disgust:😱

RETAKE THEM!

what major do you want? what is your gpa?

you SHOULD be taking the sat's next weekend.

spend the summer with an SAT review book. study like mad. get your grades up. keep at it with your extra curriculars.

Thanks for the encouragement. How many chances do I have to take the SAT over next year when I'm a senior? The apps are due in November, so is it possible to take it on September and October and still qualify for the scores? Thanks.

I'm retaking them coming month. My GPA is hovering around 3.4. Major, not sure yet.

you should take the IIc test if you are in trig and [doing decently well]

in the fall, you will have three chances to take the sats and still have the uc's (and any other college for that matter) accept the score. october, november, and december. there is no september test.

To be brutally honest with you, your chances of getting into UCLA are slim to nil. Unless you have a countless number of extra curricular activities and boost your GPA and SAT, you should probably look elsewhere. Keep trying though, you never know.

my friend got rejected from UCR but got into UCSD as an engineer

so not getting into a lower ranking school doesn't mean you can't get into a higher one, and vice versa. there's no sure way of knowing whether or not you can get into a school.

you've got what ... 3-4 more shots at it until the winter applications are out.

you can do better thats the only way you are gonna have a chance. unless you are like 6'11 270 and a force in the paint that is. take math 1 if you arent so great at math (i scored better on ii , you are allowed to miss some i guess). try some of the other tests you'll be surprised. i didnt even finish the chem one i remember and they gave me a perfect score on it.

You got rejected from the yearbook? I didn't think there were requirements for that... i thought it was all volunteer work.

For the specific area of the yearbook position I applied for, it was interview and journalism. But no, they rejected me.

I can't wait to graduate, sick and tired of school. *sigh*
