Depending on how good of a memory you have, in which case those who do will be those with high scores. Compound this with the fact that the brain may want to forget or remember one's score if it is either exceptionally bad or exceptionally good and the results will be very skewed.

Well his score on the new SAT system isn't great, seeing as the new SAT is out of 2400 I believe.

If your 1910 is equivalent to a 1300 in the old scoring scheme, then you did just fine.
SAT means dick all.

You got a 1300 in the only parts that matter. Writing was only added in to get rid of bias in the SAT... wait, what bias? Retarded.

i thought i did terrible when i took it, i attribute that partially to the fact that i had to work past midnight the night before and get up at 6 :(
i had 1280 or so, don't remember what i got on the writing, and straight 29's on the act, almost retook that, but i'm too lazy... i figgure my >3.9 will be good enough (4.0 weighted)

I'm gonna take the SAT latter this year. The ACT sucked. Just took that yesterday. Hopefully my grades will help me get into any college. 3.75GPA

i got below average on my Writing SATII haha...luckily I was already accepted by Hopkins when I got that score back.

Engineers dont need to know how to write anyway :)

I just got mine today, too.

2110, here
670 Critical Reading
760 Math
680 Writing with a 10 on the essay

I think that 2110 is pretty good for the first time. I'll probably take it again.

I got a 1290 way back when, ended up going to Emory with that (although I later transferred to UGA), and am now at LSU working on my Ph.D.

1300 is hardly failing; what you get out of college is about what you put into it, not about how well you did on a standardized test.

Hmm... I didn't score all that well on my SAT's. I got an 1190 out of 1600 a long time ago, but that was more than enough to get me into a state school that I could afford.

Come to think of it, I didn't too all that great in college either. I still got a good job that pays well, though, so none of it really mattered in the long run. Test scores are overrated.

What's the confusion with how the new system works? It's the old one with 800 more points from a new section.

Not exactly.. the changed the entire test in a number of small and not so small ways. It is no longer directly comparable.

I just came back from doing a tutoring programming for kids in East Palo Alto (ghetto). My tutee got his PSAT results and had a Math range of 590-690 and a verbal of 310-400.
Count yourself lucky.

1900 out of 2400 sounds pretty good. I'm pretty sure my brother didn't do that well. He was slightly below average in two categories and above average in one. Don't recall what his score ended up being though. Certainly not 1900.
