Not to mention killing her parents and pastor? I thought the mortality rate is pretty low. Consider she's only 26, her parents must be what? only about 50?

I don't think it's being overhyped at all. SARS would have catastrophic consequences if left unchecked. Even now in Canada Health and government authorities have concluded that if SARS carries on for the next couple years like it has so far, the economy will be seriously hurt by the cost of having to quarantine thousands of people.
