The real question is whether Bristol was taught sex ed by her parents. Contraception is more likely to fail if you don't use it right.

And, sure, it's possible that abstinence-only dances-with-fundies Palin (or her husband) taught Bristol about safe-sex and that the two horny teens used it but that it failed, but it's more likely that that didn't happen.

The point was I have my own Sarah Palin thread 😉
I was going to start one too, but all I had was, "I'd hit her." Didn't figure the mods would consider that enough to warrant a thread (though it's about as substantive as some of the threads here).

For Christ's sake, guys, lighten up. Not every thread has to be a bitter partisan fight. Further, just as I predicted, your feeding frenzy about irrelevant family issues is backfiring against Obama, painting all Obama supporters as petty and mean-spirited assholes. Palin breast-feeds her kid? Good for her, it's the right thing to do. It has nothing to do with the election, but it's still an interesting human interest story and a good example for all mothers. Accept it for what it is, or hit the fscking <Back> button if it doesn't interest you.

I now return you to your mindless mud-slinging.
I tried to keep it relatively tongue in cheek, however my own personal weakness - the inability to not respond to idiocy - requires me to pick up the mud 🙂

But  to your point!
To be clear, the "you" in my last line referred to "guys", not you personally.

I'm finding the left-wing feeding frenzy over Palin's immaterial family issues to be just as disgusting as the dishonesty and pandering to religious extremists of the right. There are so many important reasons to pan Palin, but they've been buried in the media and tainted in the public eye by the furor over stupid crap like this.

Option 3, of course, is that they knew about it and didn't use it. It's been a few years since I was a teenager, but that was pretty common. We all knew about birth control, but often didn't use it for all sorts of reckless reasons.

All right, I've changed my mind. It seems Palin probably did teach her kids about contraception and proper use, etc.

In a widely quoted 2006 survey she answered during her gubernatorial campaign, Palin said she supported abstinence-until-marriage programs. But weeks later, she proclaimed herself "pro-contraception" and said condoms ought to be discussed in schools alongside abstinence.

"I'm pro-contraception, and I think kids who may not hear about it at home should hear about it in other avenues," she said during a debate in Juneau.

[...]

Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella said the governor stands by her 2006 statement, supporting sex education that covers both abstinence and contraception.

Good for her.

However, she probably felt like she'd be torn a new one for having premarital sex. She might have even associated birth control with "bad people who have sex before marriage." o when she got horny with hockeyguy she couldn't say no because evolution has designed her to want to get fucked by hockeystud.

Good parenting good have prevented this. Good parenting would have realized that she was going to have sex before marriage and that since she was it would be best that she put plastic on the hockeyguy dick or take a pill every day.

Again, a huge part of sex ed and good parenting is making the horny teen actually WANT to use contraception when they fuck.

Are there any PARENTS that post here that want to comment?

I gotta tell you, virgins posting about contraception tires me.

😀
4 kids, and a vasectomy

On a serious note, I started early - 15. I knew about condoms and every other method, had very explicit public school education on sex ed. But often times I chose not to use them, and my often times my partner agreed/never questioned it. Hell, a couple of my kids came from that choice too! Condoms are horrible, and guys (and most girls) hate them. Other birth control doesn't protect from STD's and is more difficult to use. I never WANTED to use them, never have.

I'm sorry if my posts hit a little close to home for you and make you feel defensive. I don't really care about your parenting style so any similarities between Palin's deficient parenting and yours was coincidental. My suggestions is that after reading each post on P&N you take a deep breath and really think about whether you want to let it get your motherly panties in a bunch.

So what? If you were a candidate or a candidate's kid that would be enough reason for me not to vote for you or your parent. Does alchemize's poor judgment excuse the Palins' poor judgment?

Yes and I asked him for the link. And if you read my previous posts (I know you have reading comprehension problems such as not understanding the meaning of ''electorate" in another thread) then you'll understand that I don't think you can be equivocal about sex-ed. You have to push it. At best, she was equivocal and contradictory about it.

Like Pliablemoose, I'm giving some sex education to a youngster. As a junior leftist, you wouldn't vote for Palin/McCain in any case, so this issue is a complete non-issue, you're just being your trollish self.

If this is a non-issue, why did you start a thread about it? To troll? Just because I disagree with you that Palin is a good mother doesn't make me a troll. And I've criticized Obama in other threads so. If you weren't so busy hurling insults you might notice I'm not the huge Obama supporter you think I am.

To YOU it's a non-issue for you to state "If you were a candidate or a candidate's kid that would be enough reason for me not to vote for you or your parent."

And you're not an Obama fan because you're an emibittered Hillary fan. Doesn't change your 6 year trolling leftist posting history.

Wrong again. I didn't vote for Hillary and I'm not a Hillary fan. I don't have much against her but I'm not a fan either. 😉

And are you considering voting for Obama?

Actually, I am. If we had a Repub congress right now, it'd be a no-brainer to me.

I'm not sure why you think a C-section is such a bad idea. I heard it's safer than the regular way for mother and child (that's why doctors prefer it, so they don't get sued should something go wrong). Plus, a lady may be too small or a child may be too big. And, yeah, it keeps the pussy tight.

My original point still stand, being a good mother is the rule, not the exception. No need to admire her for that.

It would have been much easier to abort it back at some unclear time before it became a human but she chose not to...

***head explodes****

Before it became human?
First, I thought they are "human" at the time of conception.

Second, she made a choice to not abort it? A choice?
I thought we aren't even supposed to have that choice.

"I heard", "keeps the pussy tight" Little boy, go to back off topic until you decide to educate yourself.

We'll, if there's nothing coming out of there, why would it stretch? You inciteful and deeply knowledgable response says it all.

Well, Beavis, if some day you manage to depart your basement and find a woman who accepts your shallow mysoginistic ass, and for some reason she wants to spread your ignorant gene pool, and you can talk her into "keeping her pussy tight" via a major operation that significantly increases risks of mortality and morbidity, go for it.

Depth and insight are wasted on such an idiot who feels free to comment on a subject he knows nothing about. Of course, you're "educated" via DailyKOS so this is no surprise.

But it takes a serious committment to be able to breastfeed and be on the campaign trail. I would have been dissapointed if she was bottle feeding/nannying her baby. She walks the walk there...

My wife told me this, I don't go searching for things about her boobies (other than pics).

The backshot: Shortly after breast-feeding the baby, Trig, and putting their youngest daughter, Piper, to bed after Sarah Palin's speech at the RNC on Wednesday night, the Palins came down to the hotel lobby and thanked everyone on the staff for being so helpful. She signed autographs and posed for pictures. She was wearing a black cocktail dress and looked beautiful, a source said.

Actually I don't care much about Sarah Palin (other than her milk engorged boobies), and posted the thread somewhat as a joke, but I've very passionate about birthing issues, breastfeeding, child education, parents rights, etc.

You cared enough to post to some random thread on the internet - so who's fucking pathetic?

Fuck you, ass. My fiancee and I are thinking of having children. We asked my cousin, who is around 5', about C-section. She's had two and the kids are perfectly healthy. There are obvious scars but she says it's better (at least for her). Now, I don't know (or care) who you are, but I'll take her words over yours anyday regarding pregnancy. (Her husband was the one that made the joke). You show such arrogance for a man who's never experienced pregnancy.
