Kay Bailey Hutchison for one...but I guess she's too uggo for Old Man McCain.
Really, McCain seems to have something for those secretary types. The very first trophy VP?

Kay Bailey Hutchison would be demonized by the Democrats as an ultra right wing conservative. Just off the top of my head, she's advocated for guns in schools. Most dems and even some republicans would blow a gasket if they heard that.

And she looks like a bulldog licking urine off of a nettle!

LOL! The Iraq issue is a done deal. Either president will bring troops home around the same time now due to the Surge that McCain supported and Obama did not. As far as taking care of the soldiers when they return, well, McCain supports that as well, if not more than Obama.

You still have yet to post why you support Obama instead of McCain and how those ideas that Obama holds line up more with your "Republican Views"

Not for McCain it isn't. He's been silent when Bush made the agreements with the Iraqis. He might reverse it. Who knows.

Anyways, another reason why I will vote for Obama is because he's a hard worker. Nothing was handed to him. Even better, he puts others before himself. Those speak volumes about character. Dumping your crippled wife for a rich beauty queen and using her fortunes to run for office says the opposite. Growing up, I remember that being a Republican was all about doing things on your own. Obama has it, McCain doesn't.

Again I'll have to ask. What policies does Obama support that are more "republican" than those of McCain's? You sound just like Obama with your avoiding the question.

pssst... koolaid drinker, braindead - cannot answer... leave him(them) alone

He's a hard worker? Please, PLEASE tell me what "hard work" he's accomplished in the Senate since he got there?

And can anyone honestly say with a straight face that she'd have been picked if she had been born with a sack?

Do you think Jeb Bush would not be running if he was named Jeb Smith?

I don't know, who could turn down a name like Jeb?

Seriously though, what's he running for?

Nothing, now, with that last name.

But he was a solid 2 term governor of a swing state with a successful record.

Yep, Kay Bailey is pretty old school, Palin is actually a perfect fit for McCain, everyone forgets how the party has reigned him in.

Why did the Democrats select Obama when there are other more qualified???

The voters making a selection like that is much different that the candidate making this kind of selection. They are not the same thing. Each have very different intentions in mind.

She struck me as a doe in the headlights. I was not impressed by the speech, but then again I suppose it had to be about her ? but that is just boring.

To quote a famous political saying,

"I know Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton."

Thank GOD!

This election is really shaping up to be Bush/Quayle v. Dukakis/Bentsen round 2.

I can live with that.

You guys are moronic if you think angry Hilary voters are going to vote for a woman who is:

1.) Aggressively pro life (wants to overturn Roe v. Wade)
2.) Supports the Iraq war
3.) Supports big oil companies and drilling in the US
4.) Supports Bush's economic policies

This woman is the anti-christ for a Democrat. Morons.

Well, I promise you he's not living in a cardboard box. Wiki says he was offered the NFL commissioner spot, and he's on the board of directors for a health care company.

you know what NO ONE is talking about today?

Obama's speech last night.

That's because we talked about it last night while you were out partying like a trooper. 😉

I see you're trying to pidgeon hole me when I already gave you reasons. Sorry, fool, you're not going to get me to tow any partyline. As I've said earlier, this nation needs to be rebalanced from a gutter capitalist style to one more in line with what Bush promised back in 2000 when he was running as a compassionate conservative. It's the platform that matter and McCain obsession with war and tax cut for rich Americans strikes me as too selfish.

Like I said earlier, one man embodies the Republican ideals while another is just a pretender.

If there is one thing that women hate more than men who do not share their views, it is other women who do not share their views. So, if any of you have any hopes and dreams of democratic women jumping ship here then get over it. That goes double for current female Hilary supporters. Female democrats are often very scornful towards republican women and you know what they say about a woman's scorn...

Most women I know do not think like men when it comes to their vote.

So McCain should have chosen Brad Pitt, is what you're saying? 😛

mission accomplished!

let me repeat, this has nothing to do with 'reaching out' to moderates or Hillary supporters or any other such nonsense

Palin was chosen because she excites the conservative republican base who hold McCain in disdain and gets them out on the battlelines giving their time and money

QFT.

You guys are delusional.

Republican Values and Principles.

Feel free to run on that platform.

Fool me once ... shame ... shame on you. Fool us three times ... no f'king way

Those women who are agressive pro-choice and rabidly against the Iraq War weren't going to vote for McCain anyway. The 20% of Hillary voters who said in a recent poll they will instead vote for McCain were mostly married, moderate-to-conservative Democrats who really wanted to see a woman in the White House even if they didn't necessarily agree with Hillary on all of the issues.

McCain might have just now grabbed more of those moderate Democrats...

One can only hope no Bush or Clinton ever runs for office again. P-Funk musician George Clinton as well as New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, are of course, excluded from the list.

We nominated Obama because the majority of us believe he was the best candidate. McCain PICKED Palin on his own, because he needs her to win.
