Sapphire X850XT 256mb AGP on newegg for $140!

okay, just getting ready to buy the ati X850Pro, for nearly same amount. much of a difference between these two cards?? for an older agp system, which would be best bang for the buck.

and, thanks for the tip; didn't know newegg had these.
 
sweet. thanks alot dantzig. I knew i could attempt to unlock the other pipes on the pro, but think it would be better having 'em "natural". Already switching my order at newegg.

Saw the AGP and thought it was a fantastic deal.

Welll, I just add it to my cart and then I change the amount of the video card to...I don't know...let's say...999. Then it will say that there's not enough and give me what's available to satisfy my amount (which is how many is in stock).

I would probably stick with the unlocked 6800GS, as it performs the same as a 6800GT when unlocked like that, and I don't think it'd be worth the upgrade.
 
Yep, they went fast. Fortunately we're dealing with the Egg, so the orders are safe. just checked and my order is on step 3. Might even have to upgrade the cpu to compliment the card.
 
Yay for budget gaming... sometimes the amount people drop on video cards alone $1000+ on SLI astounds me. Of course, it'd be awesome to have a setup like that, but in reality I don't game enough to justify more than an X850XT 😉

I have the PCI-e version of this card, and it's great. You might need to replace the cooler eventually though, it gets rather hot and noisy.
 
how much of an improvement am i looking at when i already have a 9800xt?
would it warrant the upgrade..

all i play is cs:s , battlefield 2142 and some ro

I ordered one after blacklit and Lalakai posted that it was OOS. A few seconds after I ordered, I went back to the product page and it said OOS. My order is currently at level 3 status. I guess TrojanAaron and I both lucked out. Maybe their website screwed up.

You take that auto-notify crap seriously? Come on. Maybe if they get in a large enough new shipment within in a few weeks, you might get a notify a few days after it comes in. You might. The few times I got this kind of notice, they were out before I got there. If you want it and it is hot, you have to be on it like the other people that want it even more than you do are. (I don't have that kind of patience and persistance myself.)

You believe a telephone handler knows what goes on there? Why? Their job is to be nice, cooperative and helpful. That doesn't mean they really know anything intimate about what goes on.

I'm afraid it is your newegg rep that has been busted. IAC, calling an Anandtecher a liar only on the basis of what some telephone handler said is completely uncalled for. You owe this guy an apology at least.

These "in stock", "out of stock", "back in stock" things are constant on this forum. People are too quick to assume either. I've passed up good deals that the OP jumped to post OOS in the title only to find the deal back again and in stock on the front page of the site.

In fact, if the AnAndTech moderators see this post, please consider banning this guy for lack of etiquette. If there are repercussions for thread-crapping, there should be repercussions for people-crapping as well.
