Sapphire X800 Toxic Review

Yeah, you're right. Changed it to something more useful.

I also disagree with this statement by the reviewer:

"The suggested retail price of the Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro Toxic Edition is $460, only $60 more than the standard Radeon X800 Pro. So is the extra $60 worth it? The answer is a resounding yes."

Umm, it still loses to the X800XT-PE even when overclocked and its only $40 less. Granted right now you'd be hard pressed to find either one of the cards anywhere near retail. I think it'd be more than worht it to pay the extra $40-60 for an XT and OC it.

Well, the nice game bundle and excellent HSF help offset the extra cost, but the main justification for the higher price is that these VIVO X800Ps are supposed to mod to 16-pipes (aka, lower-clocked X800XTs) every time. Don't consider the mod guaranteed, but if this card has the XT's yellow video-in connector near the power connector (can't see it in these screens), then chances are supposed to be very good.

The review says: "Also on the back of the card we can see ATI's Rage Theater chip, the chip that allows for VIVO functionality. The Sapphire Radeon X800 Pro Toxic Edition is one of the few Radeon X800 Pro graphics cards with the Rage Theater chip built in, as reference design and the first few Radeon X800 Pro boards we've tested did not include it."

"an increase in memory speed of 302MHz"
Damn.
