Hey everyone, new to the boards here. I'm James. A lot of you seem pretty knowledgable about many things I've read in these forums, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I've got the Sapphire Radeon x800 GTO^2 LE (16 pipelines outta the box), and can get it up to 550 / 600 with no artifacts (aside from the point here). Anyway. I recently purchased a DELL - 26" W2606 LCD TV
The TV supports up to to 1080i. I want to run it from my computer (DVI) at 1360x768. The picture is crystal clear at this resolution, but the only problem is the mouse seems to 'lag' a little. If I set the display to 720p using the catalyst control center, it's the same crystal clear image, but there isn't that slight delay. The only problem with running 720p is that it does not take up my whole screen (about 3/4 of an inch black all the way around).
For the life of me I can't figure out why I seem to get this 'lag' when I set my resolution to 1360x768. Is there a way to cure this lag I'm experiencing, or perhaps stretch my 720p setting (using the video software, not the settings on the actual TV)?? If anyone can help me I'll be forever in your debt =)
Edit: Using 1080i setting in catalyst control center displays an image that shakes up and down and is scrunched to the middle of the screen (but does stretch to both sides), so I'm assuming I can't use that.
Also, when watching DVD's (component), my DVD's don't seem to take up the whole screen. I thought this might've hadsomething to do with my DVD player settings (running at 480p). I checked, and my screen settings on the DVD player are set to 16:9, and no matter what I changes the settings on the display to (standard, wide, or fullscreen), I get black bars on the top and bottom of my screen. The only way to get around this is zoom, and I assume this creates an image that is not displayed as it should be. Even when I play a DVD from the computer rather than the DVD player it is not displayed correctly.
Again, if you guys can help me out with either problem, I will be very grateful.
