Sapphire Vapor-X 2GB 4890 Coming

Would anything even make use of that much memory? Maybe a crossfire setup that could handle insane levels of AA at insane resolutions?

i think 2gb is overkill for any rez below 2000x1900 or whatever it is. but hey if u got money to burn...

If the game is programmed like that.

See I've always wondered that. Does the game have to be programmed to make full use of the the RAM on your card?

Say your card has 1 GB of VRAM, if you loaded say...UT99, would the entire game just run in video memory?

And is there any way to use the VRAM for an extension of regular system RAM? That would be cool....

Games like Oblivion & GTAIV would use up all that memory in a heart-beat with High-Res textures and max view-distance + details etc.
