I am considering the TI 4280 P, AGP 8X, 128MB DDR, nVidia GeForc 4 TI4200 Chipset w/ VGA & TV-Out

I found it for $110 shipped.

This should perform much better then the 9100...

suggestions? What about dirx 9 compatibility?

The Sapphires are the only 64bit memory bus 9100?s I?ve seen --- and I pretty well checked all the reviews around the world that I could find on the various 9100?s. And from what I know these 64bit?ers only started showing up last week. Sapphire must have just changed the manufacturing spec.?s. Just my luck.

One thing about the 4200?s is that they generally don?t have the 2D display quality of ATI?s, and the Sapphire cards tend to be very good in this area. The 2D display quality on my Sapphire 9100 64MB is excellent.

Oh ya, if you run these 64bit 9100?s in 16bit color rather than 32, you get a significant speed jump ?

3Dmark2001 ?

5356 ? (10x7x32)
5978 ? (10x7x16) ?11.6% faster.

I probably got the first one at 64bit!
The benchmarks of the ti4200 are typically better in all areas then the 9100.
Has anybody seen any 9100s at 8x agp?

Right now, it looks like the 4200 is the best bang for the buck. XFX has also recently introduced a "Pro" and "Platinum" model of the 4200. I am looking for pricing info now.

I sent the card back to newegg and got the asus ti4200 8420s,

It looks like I should be able to hit 300/650 or maybe even 325/680.
