Sapphire Radeon 7500 clocked @ 290/230
drivers are Catlyst 2.3 , 6.13.10.6166 , 7.76-020815B-005727C

when i play GTAIII or Sniper Path of Vengence .. my screen has this funky grey blotches all over the place and it's annoying. I don't know how to describe it. It's ugly.

Should i try the dirvers before 2.3?
Should i bump down my clock/memory speed?
Shoud i do both?

p3 866 on a Intel D815EEA board
512 MBs PC133

thanks

I couldn't answer your question, but I'll bet someone in the Video section of the forums could. You should try posting this question there.

yup, usually artifacts such as those are caused by overclocked memory. try reducing that a lil bit.

awesome .. but something very very weird is happening.

I have (mindovermadness) Radeon Tweaker 1.1.96 and Rage3D Tweak (Rage3d.com) cause i couldn't get either to work and i unlocked something and it let me change my settings.

I went to clock back my memory speeds to around 200 and it locked up (with Radeon Tweaker). I even went to try and set back the core and memory to asynchrous @ 200 and it stil locked up. Lock up, i mean the whole screen changed and locked colors.

I tried with the Rage3D and it was a no go either. And after each lock up i had to hold down the power switch and shut down manually.

Each time when i boot, i look at the settings and it says: 249/330 - clock/memory. and i thought to myself. This isn't right. Im gonna eventually blow my video card and i try and down clock my settings and it wont go.

So .,.. i run GTAIII and Sniper and the artifacts are gone.

Can these two programs reporting my speeds wrong?
Will my card self-implode?
Since i bought it at newegg.com can i return it?

Sapphire Radeon 7500 clocked @ 290/230 thats a serious overclock the default speeds are 270/183 I believe.

You may want to boot windows in safe mode remove both overclocking utilities. Then reinstall power strip or one of the otherOC utilities & check your speed it should have you back at default, also be sure when you trying out new speeds you don't have the OC utility set to start windows with the new speed.
