Dont worry, he affects every open minded person that way. Only nvidia fanboy's can stand him. When brand loyalty makes you that blind, you come across as a moronic troll. Which is why the only people that can stand him are the ones who are just as blind.

And now you're posting about your problems?

The problem I was having was RAM related, I have a duff dimm, not related to the board except the fact that the dimm was plugged into it..

My board was fine

Those are the problem devices listed in the .inf files of the sata driver update, they're all Seagate model numbers bar the Maxtor at the top, your drive should have one printed on it, if none of those match up, then you're good to go. www.seagate.com has a model number search function so you can check it against the name if you can't find your serial number on the drive/packaging.

Nice on topic post Scoobydoo. LOL

I'd be happy to compare our contributions to this community with you? (hint: mine extend beyond giving off topic opinions of other members ;) )

No problem, mrclunk.

Also. There's not point in getting uptight about Rollos preferences..

They are just that, his preferences and opinions, we may not always ask for them, but it's not like you can stop him posting them, so just ignore the bits you don't like and deal with it, please.

Done a bit of gaming with this board, and with F.E.A.R I didn't drop bellow 25 FPS at all. Although, that can probably be attributed to the card, overclocked X800 GTO :p

So far the board's doing just fine, no complaints here what soever.

Since the crossfire version of the Sapphire board is cheaper, and it isnt touted as the "overclocker" on Sapphire's website; can I assume it doesnt have the same potential as the white board that was reviewed by Anandtech? Does anyone out there know what the deal is? I can't imagine why anyone would pay more for no crossfire capabilities and less PCI slots other than just a color scheme.

Unfortunatly I daren't risk overclocking things too hard on my board, I can't afford a replacement. However, a quick scan of the bios reveals that the options are pretty much entirely customisable, and overclocking looks to be a simple task.

It doesn't make sense, no, but I guess the only way to find out is to overclock the two boards together to see how they come out..

The board has so far lived up to the expectations I have of Sapphire, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they don?t make the boards. The board is visually identical to both the board with SATA2 (I?m certain the Southbridge is the same, too), and not just the other Sapphire board, it?s practically identical to the PC Partner board, even the silk screen appears to match, all that appears to be different is the branding, this board doesn?t have the same style stamp on the underside as the Sapphire Gruber board, it?s almost a generic board with some branding. Who actually makes it, I have little clue.

PC Partner makes Sapphire boards, both graphics and motherboards. They are the biggest contract manufacturer for ATI graphic cards and motherboards, and have been for some time. They are just now branding their own products as well.

That would explain the similarities :D

Thanks for the info

I've seen very, very few of these mobos cropping up, most of the ones I've seen are used by OcUK forum members :D

Of course, there are others, but not as many as there are/were SLI.

Well. It sure looks like the boards are stable. from the first time.........
I am deffinatly getting a Sapphire board next as it seems real classy for a first time. I think i will wait for the 2x16PCIe ATI chipset though. And maybee the next South bridge if ULi are not available by then.
