i have an old 400sc that i want to use this with. i used to have a 9800pro but that had a noisy fan. i sold that one and now thinking to go back to 9800 pro with this card, but would a dell chassis be cool enough to let the heatsink on the card do the job or would i be risking overheating both the card and the chassis

It only stipulates OEM. Which means most likely no box, no cables, and no CD with drivers on it. Which is no big deal really.

Wonder if this card has the r360 core which is moddable/flashable to 9800xt. Now that'd be a good deal. 9800Xt for $90. Ebay anyone? 😉

It's $153 shipped at newegg for the retail version. $190 is for the 256MB version. Still, this is $63 cheaper than newegg and the only disadvantage I see is OEM.

I was just about to order the 6800 from newegg for $159 shipped, and this made me hesitate on that... but I do some heavy gaming from time to time and my HP doesn't have the best ventiliation, so I don't trust passively cooled cards.

Bump for a great deal, but I'm going for the 6800.

actbuy = newegg?

i checked out the card... the entire process is reminiscent of the good old pre-redesign newegg days

You must not know much about the 9800 series cards. Look at some pictures of them. That heatsink that is on it doesn't do ANYTHING. If you touch it you'll be burned instantly (i've had 9600xt's and 9800pro). The fan doesn't even blow that hard. Now look at the picture of the card in this topic. Look how BIG that heatsink is. It will cool it just fine and better than the Radeon 9800 cards with the dinky heatsinks.

Something that I can't believe anyone talked about is the fact that it is a 9800 Pro Ultra LITE... Uhh, I sure hope this isn't a 128 bit card...

The Lite version should also be the 256 bit card according to Sapphire.

"Available in both FULL Retail and Lite Retail Versions
Full retail indicates that the package contains the entire bundle including the Game software bundle and utilities. The Lite retail versions do not come bundled with the software bundle and are packaged with the neccessities needed to enjoy the pinnacle in performance from Sapphire alone."
