What does this card have to do with Mantle? Will Mantle work with existing cards?

FWIW

Mantle, an AMD initiative to create a new graphics programming model that fully exploits the capabilities of modern GPUs, allows game developers to speak the native language of the AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture, providing a deeper level of hardware optimization no other graphics card manufacturer can match.

As part of this initiative, we have worked with leading game developers to create an API specification and associated graphics driver that enables this model on PCs with GCN-based graphics hardware. Mantle was created in direct response to requests from leading game developers, so interest is very high.

That quote sounds like Mantle works with the newer cards, not the ones like 7950, no? "Graphics Core Next"?

The 7950/7xxx series are GCN-Arch's so I believe at this point with the news we have so far I believe it will work with all 7xxx series GCN cards, but this is just my opinion.

I did look at that card also both good cards just depends on your preference.

I went with the Sapphire (for me) due to the VRM cooling with the Sapphire for oc'ing and CF temps vs. no VRM/heatsink cooling for the PCS+.

Differences.
Sapphire has VRM cooling/heatsink PCS+ does not.
925 Boost if you don't oc vs. PCS+ 880.
Dual DVI ports vs. one on the PCS+ if that matters to you.
Sapphire does not VRM temp sensors not sure if the PCS+ does.

After reading through the links you posted, I also believe that the 7xxx series are GCN cards. Sweeeeet. My 7950 just keeps getting better. Now that the drivers are working properly, I think I'm going to stay with AMD for quite some time.
