To anyone thinking of buying a samsung phone don't.

Sanyo's reception is so much better than samsung. It also doesn't drop calls nearly as often. This is coming from someone who tried about 8 phones out and then bought one. Sanyo's was better across the board. I purchased the 4900, the battery life is great.

I have to toss in my 2 cents worth here. I have a Samsung 8500 and its wonderful. My wife, my dad, and my stepmother have Sanyo phones (forget the number) and you can never hear them. The reception on this is bad, the calls drop out consistently and I would swear someone was ruffling paper on their end of the phone.

Perhaps its just my area but my Samsung 8500 never has these issues (except inside Home Depot for some reason

Well I had a samsung phone, my sister had one also. We were both plagued by constant dropped calls and horrible reception. I did some research and decided on a sanyo 4900. The difference incredible, perhaps coverage are does play a big role, but I was in the same exact area and the reception difference is huge. My sister bought an lg and she has also had much better reception. I will never go back to a samsung phone after my experience, though I have heard other people with this problem. If you search the internet you can find tons of threads on message boards reporting the same dropped call/horrible reception problem. It was good for approx a year, I dont know how much of a difference that makes. Anyways I love my phone now and I thought I would also warn about the samsung phones.

i had a samsung 8500 and switched to a sanyo 5300 (the camera phone) for $149 from costco. the Sanyos reception is so much better it is scary. i was so annoyed with sprint and their network when in reality it was the phone's fault--i gave the 8500 to my brother and we will be side-by-side in our house in san clemente (a city with poor sprint reception) and his phone will drop the call while mine is working clearly. sanyos are really great, and the build quality is not too bad either--i thought my samsung was really well put together though.

I am sorry to hear about your relatives bad sanyo phones, but I am sure if your PERSONALLY tried a sanyo phone, you would find you could make your calls in home depot (which you can't because home depot is a metal shielded bldg. You will notice a large difference.

For anyone who thinks I am blowing smoke, you can buy a phone, not activate it, and call CSR all you want to try out the reception, just dial *3 as much as you want. Take back the crap samsungs, keep the sanyo you like. Then dial *3 and activate it.

My bro has probably gone through 8-10 phones. He got his from BB and got the extended warranty. Boy did he make the right choice. He's had a lot of problems with Samsung dropping calls and ended up making many trips back to BB to exchange. He now has the Sanyo SCP-8100 and its got great reception. It prompted me to get one! My brother, his wife, and I all have the Sanyo 8100 and my parents both have 4900's! IMO Sanyo, by far, has the best reception!

I almost dropped sprint because of this, I even called them asking if I changed phones if reception would be better. "Oh no, they are all equal" BS. I figured maybe it was my crap samsung. Because my original, huge monster Sanyo still had better reception than my newer samsung. So then I went out and got the 4900, now I am happy with sprint again. Sprint are idiots to allow samsung to make their network seem like crap.

Don't get me wrong, I loved samsungs awesome features, but damn, they didn';t get the important part right (the can I hear the other person part) I swear, my good friend and I both had samsungs and in Atlanta (a city with awesome sprint coverage) we litterally could not talk 5 minutes or longer without redialing each other. I was so pissed at sprint I was getting my money back for dropped call (50 cents a call) and doing this for about 60 calls a month to make my bill free. What pissed me off more was that i would drop the call to report the dropped call.

Samsung is absolute crap in the cell phone market. Enough said. I think when it gets older and you start dropping any call every 5 minutes or so you will change your mind. Drop your samsung once and your reception will get worse.

Get this phone if you need it. I've had a SCP-6000 for about 8 months now. Never been more satisfied with Sprint service, reception, and coverage (been with them for about 5 years :p)

I will NEVER go back to a Samsung. It was...well, bad. Samsung phones are not very durable, have bad reception, and don't look as spiffy ;) LG is pretty bad too. Motorola is decent, but it seems like they don't make phones for Sprint anymore.

You have to use this phone with Sprint right?
I have AT&T Wireless right now, would like a new phone, but don't really want to change carriers.

I'm been using a Sanyo SCP-4000 for the past 2 1/2 years. It's a great phone and I've never had a single problem with it. The 6400 is temping though... Bar phones rule!

It's a shame this phone is so big. Even my old LG1010 is half the size of this beast!! I need a new phone too (I ran over mine with the car). Still works but only on vibrate, and the LCD is broke too! LOL

Its a great deal for $50.

I had an old Sprint phone that was just crap.
I called Sprint hoping for a deal getting another phone.
So the guy gave me a $150 credit if I extended another 2 yrs.
Did that, lost my new phone and had to use the old one again.
Was going to call them asking for another deal but that means extending my contract again.

Then I saw this deal for $50.....problem solved.

LOL, man, this is the smallest non flip phone you can buy.
Weights only like 2.65oz. Most phones are in the 3.5 to 4.5 range.
Check the specs again.

I have the 6200 right now and really like it, but what is the difference between this one and the 6200? Is it worth upgrading?

6 one way half a dozen the other.
It is kinda like cars some of the exact same model last forever and some die in a month or two. Luck of the draw I think.

But I love my touchpoint, and my 8500.

good price for that phone too BTW.

Just got back from a Sprint store.
I saw a list of all reduced phones(no obligation phones) and the only decent one was the Sanyo 6400.
Paid $53.20 and I was out the door. I paid taxes on $50 instead of the $129.99 on the website + no shipping cost.

Truely a great deal for anyone who wants to upgarde their old Sprint phone without extra obligations.
I'd bet you can make about $20 per phone selling them on Ebay after the sales are over.

I hope you are kidding.

No I am not kidding. Try putting one of these phones in a pair of dress pants and you can see why. Thin yes, but tall. I really like the flip phones but the deals don't apply to existing customers :( Going to hold off for a while.

Anyone know how much the belt clips are for this phone? Thanks.

MOst owners of this phone will think you are insane.
Have you actually had this phone in your pocket for more than an hr to know ??

I've had it a little more than a half a day and I forget that its in my pocket.
Its like having 3 pens in your pocket. Its an equivalent.

My old phone that I lost was the LG 5350. Its a flip phone that weighs about 3.85oz.
I can feel that phone in my pocket than this one.

The only other Sprint phone that might feel less in your pocket might be the LG 1200 and thats 3.18oz.

You're INSANE man.
