Just finished putting together my kid's Calico Critters treehouse. Wife is still wrapping gifts. Throughout tomorrow, we will have 36 people over across breakfast and dinner. My wife is a champ. She is due to give birth next week and has been non stop busy these last couple weeks.

All the presents were for my daughter. "Excessive" is relative term. Some might think that's too little. That's about average in our circle of family and friends.

My daughter loved all her gifts. Her joy, smile, and laughter while opening the gifts made it all worth it.

I disagree. How do you know what's in the boxes? Growing up, and for my own children, in addition to a few games/toys/hobby related items, Christmas was like "back to school clothes shopping, take 2." And, it included a lot of winter types of clothing - gloves, hat, wool socks, thermal underwear, etc. 4 of the gifts might all have contributed to staying warm while out sled riding the next day (not to mention the perennial new sled given as a Christmas gift - bow only, no wrapping paper.)
